It was the perfect time of day. Right when the sun was setting and there was an eerie gleam to the surrounding area. It was the time when most of the humans were already gone, but a few stragglers still remained.
The perfect time for hunting.
It was bothersome to have to take such precautions when she was hunting. Fae could easily snag a human and lead him off whenever she pleased, but the damn Volturi and their rules on exposure prevented this from happening.
Though..perhaps it was for the best. With the humans none the wiser to their existence, it was always amusing to see their reactions when they realized the truth right before they died.
That was how Fae liked to play it. After so many years hunting, she had made it into a game of sorts, to keep herself interested. After all, when they prey didn't put up much of a fight, it was easy to get bored.
And so it was that she dropped silently from the tree she had been stalking her most recent victim in, starting to stumble around and make all kinds of noise, cursing softly as though frustrated by her surroundings.
When she sensed he was curious enough, Fae 'tripped' out of the foliage, hopping on one foot as though she'd stubbed her toe.
"Oh shoot, owowow." She said, rubbing her supposedly sore shin and scowling back at the brush she'd just come from. Then she let her eyes slowly land on the man before her, as if noticing him for the first time.
"Oh! Sorry if I startled you. I seem to have a knack for getting lost and I'm afraid I'm a bit clumsy as well." She smiled demurely at him, while in actuality she was taking him in.
He was an average looking specimen, nothing particularly intriguing about him. Tall, with a mildly muscular build and sandy blond hair. She didn't bother to take in his eyes, no, she never really looked at those until they were filled with understanding. But she could smell that his guard was down.
"It's no problem at all. Here, let me help you, are you alright?" He had a kind voice. Most likely he was popular among his circle of friends. He approached her confidently, putting a hand on her arm and leading her over to one of the benches placed throughout the park.
"You really should be more careful you know." Fae noticed him leaning into her slightly as his body temperature began to rise. Her entire genetic makeup was designed to entice him, to reel him in and totally destroy an defenses or instinctive warning signals he may have.
"I know, I know. I just get so wrapped up in things out her, it's so beautiful." She laughed softly, noting how the tinkling bell sound made his temperature rise a little bit more. She leaned into him slightly, and could have laughed at how easily he was manipulate, draping an arm across the benches back.
"Do you come out here alone often? It's dangerous you know? It's getting dark."
"Oh, I can take care of myself." Fae replied. "But thanks, anyways, for the concern I mean." She leaned in as if to place a light kiss on his cheek before stopping, her eyes suddenly filling with an obvious killing intent.
"But it's really not me you should be worrying about, you stupid human." She watched as his eyes filled with confusion, then fear, before pouncing on him, biting into his neck and having her fill.
Once finished, she sat back up, licking her lips clean and grinning at the look of abject horror on the man's face. Oh, what an entertaining life she led, Fae thought, as strength flooded through her and her eyes turned back to their usual deep crimson.
"Idiot."

Vanessa left Gabe's house in a hurry. She couldn't wrap her mind around what she had just done. Did she love Gabe? No. The L-word was off limits for herself, and for him. She definitely had feelings for him, that much was crystal clear. And he must have feelings for her - no, he did have feelings for her, strong feelings. It was probably the only reason that he was sticking around. Not that it was a small reason by any standards, but still. If they were just friends, or whatever they would have been classified as, he wouldn't go through so many hoops for her. She smiled wanly as she held her hands on either side of her head, trying to slow down the throughts spinning, whizzing, and racing through her mind.
Her feet led her towards the park of their own accord. She'd gone there so much lately that it was nearly second nature. All around her, shadows were starting to seep from where they hid during the daylight. The sky was a mix of colors, making it a beautiful sunset picture. However, the sun was more down than up, so already purple was seeping in from the upper regions of the sky. Vanessa loved this time of day. It was always so relaxing, and meant that today was almost over, tomorrow nearly here. She lived for these silent, thoughtful moments, when all you need to do is bask in the simplicity of it all.
The scent of vampire made all thoughts of relaxation disappear as apprehension replaced it. The last run in with leeches - well, three - resulted in a fight, and Vanessa truly didn't want a repeat. She started to walk in a slightly altered course that would allow her to circle the bloodsucker and go back to Gabe's without actually coming into contact with it. But just as she was about to move farther away, the distinct scent of blood filled the air. Vanessa recoiled for a moment before starting forward, path directed at the leech itself. As she pushed out of the bushes, she watched in mute horror as the vampire drank from the man beneath her.
With a disgusted snarl, Vanessa stepped forward and shoved the vampire away from the man, but it was too late. The bloodsucker had drained too much blood, and the man was already gone. She turned on the vampire, eyes narrowed, lips pulled back in disgust and contempt.

ooc- So.. I've been trying to figure out a way to post without a slight amount of god-modding, so i'm just going to go ahead and write something out, and if you think we should change any of it, let me know and I'll be happy to : ) --- bic-
Feeding time was a bit of a paradox for vampires. It was their source of strength, and they always felt most powerful right afterward. But it was also a time that consumed their senses. The scent of human blood could become so intoxicating that it made it difficult to sense other presences, whereas typically a twig snapping could be heard from a mile away.
This was the situation Fae found herself in as she finished off her victim, basking in the tingling sensation of being rejuvenated. It was only at the last second that she caught that impossible to ignore reek of a werewolf that she knew she was not alone. It shoved her away roughly and, not being prepared for it, Fae was not braced against it, so she stumbled momentarily before quickly gaining her balance several feet from it.
Taking in the form before her, a glimmer of recognition flashed through her eyes as she thought back to her encounter with a pack of wolves on the beach a few weeks prior. This was the blond female. Snarling, Fae darted forward, arms shooting out like bullets and hands making contact with the woman's form and she shoved. hard.
Fae smirked with satisfaction at the loud crack! that sounded upon the werewolf hitting a nearby tree, toppling it over with the force of her blow. But her guard remained up and she bared her teeth, knowing it would take a lot more than a single hit to take down one of that kind.

Vanessa grimaced when she saw just which vampire it was. The crimson-eyed brunette from the beach. Wonderful. Just peachy. Her eyes narrowed farther to slits, but wre still wide enough for her to see the vampire fully. Blood had pooled on the vampire's lower lip, and it made Vanessa's lip curl in further disgust. Why did vampires even exist? They didn't have any purpose, except to kill people. They weren't necessary. Werewolves were important, were necessary, were needed. Without the wolves, vampires would kill anyone at any time without any consequence. Vanessa grinned slowly, relaxing into a fight stance. It was clear in the lust-filled eyes of the leech before her that there would be a a fight tonight. Damnit. Vanessa really didn't feel like duking it out with some cold-skinned idiot.
Vanessa wasn't fully prepared when the female shoved her - hard. Vanessa flew back, slamming into a tree. The sickening sound of the tree snapping as her body made contact. She felt the tree's trunk give way and before she hit the ground, Vanessa had reverted to her wolf form. Ice blue eyes narrowed murderously, she snarled, making the leech's snarl seem like a petty meow compared to a roar. Using her back legs to propel her forward, Vanessa ran straight at the female. Baring her fangs, she made as if to leap up at the female's throat, but dove down quickly to slip between the leech's legs. Before she was fully out from between the upside down V formed by Fae's legs, her front body was turning so that she could jump up and grab the vampire's shoulder from behind.
Vanessa felt the satisfaction as her teeth sank into Fae's shoulder. A werewolf's teeth were the only thing that could penetrate the vampire's harder-than-diamonds skin. Her feet were almost all on the ground, only her front paws slightly off. She reached the vampire shoulder as it was while standing, so the incline to bite had her up the few inches. Her snarl billowed through her fangs as she held tight and brought her front paws up to claw angrily at the vamp's back. The slice of fabric was clear to hear in the night air.

Fae was surprised and a tad bit impressed by the woman's speedy shifting. Back at the beach, she had shifted before the fight started, not letting on how quickly she could do it. The smell of the dog hit Fae full force and her snarl turned into a grimace.
Apparently, the speed wasn't only the shifting, Fae realized, as the now-wolf ran at her, darting around quickly and biting onto Fae's shoulder.
Pain. It wasn't one of those sensations that Fae rarely felt, but was quite steeled against. The time for cringing and nursing wounds would be after the fight. So instead, she reacted just as quickly, calling up her years of experience as well as brute strength. She roughly grabbed onto the monstrous wolf from behind her, digging steel hands into it's bone and hearing the crunch of whatever limb she had. Then, with a great heave, she threw herself forward, throwing the wolf back clear over her head to land with a loud thud on the ground before her.
She took note of the fact that her shirt was rather badly torn, along with her shoulder, before leaping on Vanessa, tearing at fur and skin alike, searching for leverage with which she could snap the things neck.
--- ooc: I went ahead and RPed with it..but for future.. I dunno if Vanessa's wolf form would be small enough to slip between Fae's legs lol

[oooops! my mistake! let's just pretend she shifted into human as she dove inbetween her legs and shifted as she was coming up? vanessa is very skilled at shifting.]
Vanessa let out a vicious growl as Fae grabbed her foreleg. Wincing, she felt the bones crack, heard them snap at Fae's pressure, and let out a soft whimper. She might be able to heal well, but broken bones took longer and she could still feel the pain that accompanied the break. Vanessa was thrown upside to to thud against the ground with a sickening thud. She knew she had no time to handle her wounds or her pain, and so she rolled as she rolled, finding herself on her feet in a flash. She kept her foreleg alleviated as she took a step towards the vampire but suddenly she was on her back once again with the vampire straddling her midsection, clawing and biting at every open spot. Vanessa could see the vampire's hands repeatedly go for her neck, which would be almost certainly fatal for the young woman, but kept her hands at bay by snapping viciously at them as the neared her.
Vanessa heaved herself up, turning so that the bloodsucker was astride her. The pain from the tree bloomed under the leech's weight. With a low grunt, Vanessa tossed her hind legs up, throwing the vampire forward and to the ground. She dove forward, paw striking out to hold the vampire's neck, her back claws slicing its legs as she swept down to pin the back. Vanessa dropped her muzzle and bit the vampire's shoulder - the one she hadn't yet attacked - before rearing back and glaring down at the leech. It wasn't her way to kill someone - something - even a vampire. She leapt forward and was quickly yards away, already turned back towards the leech, eyes narrowed, prepared if she was once more attacked, but warning the vampire with every movement that she wouldn't be so courteous next time.

ooc- eh. so i didn't realize i hadn't posted in here haha. my bad! -----
Fae was satisfied to see the big wolf before her limping and nursing a leg. She'd clearly done a number on it. However, she didn't have much time to think on this as she was thrown off the wolf's back, hitting the ground hard as she felt strong jaws bite into her uninjured shoulder. She was about to throw an elbow back, surely breaking the things nose, when suddenly the wait and pain were gone, as well as the wolf.
Quickly springing up, Fae saw it had jumped across the clearing. She smirked at this hesitation, knowing that her opponent clearly lacked the killer instinct of others of her race. No matter, it just made the fight easier for her.
She was about to leap forward and finish the fight when suddenly their was yelling in the distance. Fae froze, eying the wolf to make sure she wouldn't attack before turning her attention to the surrounding area, sniffing, and honing in on the direction of those voices. Damn. Sounded like her dinner's food was coming looking for him. She turned to the body, thinking to mark it up more to make it look like an animal attack, but looking around the area, decided it was unnecessary. They'd torn it up enough in their fight to make it look like the human had just gotten caught in the cross-hairs.
With a great sigh of annoyance, she turned back to the werewolf with a smirk clearly in place. "Well, looks like we've both got to get the hell out of here, so we'll have to cut this interlude short." She rolled her shoulders, feeling them pop slightly as her skin already started to heal itself.
"Catch you later mutt." she said, before vanishing into the trees, hoping that what happened was just the opposite. Fae had gotten by the entire time since the wars without seeing a single werewolf, and now within the span of 3 weeks she'd encountered them twice. Los Angeles was getting too crowded.

Vanessa tensed as Fae leapt up and spun, eyes quickly finding the white she-wolf. She crouched, ready to leap, when she paused. The sound of a female's voice floated through the air, looking for 'James.' Vanessa watched Fae check herself before turning towards the sound. She growled low in her throat. The man Fae had killed had someone looking for him already. Didn't she know better than to find someone like that? Honestly, vampires had absolutely no tack. Vanessa was shocked at her thoughts. Since when did she have anything of a killer's instinct? Then, it was just that she chose to go against that instinct most of the time that usually kept her jumping when a thought did actually form in her mind. She lifted her lips as the vampire turned back to her.
She lifted her muzzle at the bloodsucker's words and growled softly. If she had any say, she wouldn't see the vampire for a while. Vampires and werewolves didn't get along. It was commong knowledge. So seeing one repeatedly was disgusting and definitely unwanted. She waited until she was sure the vampire wasn't going to spring a surprise attack before turning and moving as quickly as she could into the bushes. Limping, she made her way back towards Gabriel's apartment.
