Alexa woke up in her apartment and stretched. She felt all her muscles pull tight. She stood up and went to the window, looking out at the city surrounding her. She looked farther and saw the glint of sun on water. "It's so beautiful. And the sun is so bright. I think I might go tanning." she said to herself. She quickly went over to her closet, pulled out bikini, shorts and a tank, and got dressed. She quickly exited her house, locking the door and traveled through the city to the beach.
When she reached the beach she traveled close to the water and pulled her towel out and layed it out on the sand. She quickly dressed down and pulled a some sunscreen out of her bag. She quickly put it on, asking a passing guy to help her with her back. She didn't think he minded. She placed her bag beside her and lied down on the blanket. She looked around but found most people were in the waves, she smiled and leaned back. She let the sun start tanning her skin. After about 20 minutes she felt like she was going to fry. She didn't like the water so she went over to the pier, carrying all her things and set up under their. She could feel the water's coolness, but not the wetnesss.
She had pulled a book out of her bag and started reading when she heard some sand giving way behind her and then it stopped not moving. She couldn't even hear breathing. She got nervous.. She turned and saw someone behind.
"Um. Hello. Who are you?" she asked, her voice shaking some what.

Asmaa found her 6th (and sometimes 7th) sense pull her to the pier. She was wearing ankle length pants, large foam flip flops, and a long sleeve mesh top under a red tank. (The beach shop salesemen told her it matched her 'trippy shades', which were red to hide the red blurs that were her eyes.) She wasn't exactly sure she'd matched, but considering no one was calling her out, she assumed she looked okay, she usually did. She carried a parasol over her to prevent any skin from glimmering in the heat of what she felt was a very present sun today.
She followed the scent of sun block (which tasted oily and disgusting against her lips- why she had been dragged here (or anywhere) was a mystery. She learned not to question her senses long ago. With sunblock she could also smell that she'd been tracking a young blonde female (Blondes always smelled like orange blossoms to Asmaa- or peroxide- and their blood was sweeter to her).
When the smell became so strong it almost overpowered her, she slowed her pace, and wandered with her arms outstreched in front of her, waving about in a semi-frantic manner. She (purposely) bumped into the woman's chair, and was greeted with a rather nervous' who're you?'. She couldn't tell if the if the girl had an instict to avoid her sort, or if Asmaa had frightened her by bumping her chair.
Aaaaaaannnnd, ACTION! Asmaa contorted her face muscles into the unfamiliar (and yet familiar) look of fear and desperation on her face, "Can you help me?" she sounded as panicked as a real blind person, "My seeing-eye dog ran off, could you help me find him?" She'd tried to sound as helpless and weak as a vampire could. And, after a couple of decades at this, she sounded pretty authentic.

Alexa saw the person come into the light and saw she had sunglasses on. 'That's no big deal,' she thought. She was about to turn back when the women's voice sounded panic. Oh my goodness, she thought. Her voice said, "Of course I will. Which way did he go?" Alexa had a dog of her own once. When her's was scared or just wante to get away he went to a nice dark place. This made her decide to go farther up under the pier.
"Just follow my voice. I'm going farther under the pier to look for it. What does it look like?" she said, without turning around to face the women. She continued under the pier, the light steadily getting darker. She hadn't seen the dog yet when she fell facedown on to the cool sand under the pier. She lift her head up and started spitting out sand. "That wasn't very graceful now was it." she said to herself. She started turing towards the women saying, "I don't see him."

Asmaa began to second guess the girl's sruvival skills- she was willingly leading a vampire(unbenownced to her) into a dark and secluded area. This will be easier than anticipated. Asmaa followed the girl through the pier appearing as helpless as she could. (Things would get suspicious if she walked confidently and without trouble.)
"Um," She began her oscar winning performance, "I don't know what he looks like. The guy I got him form told me he was a border collie, like lassie?"
She could tell they were getting further away from people, it got noticibly quieter and she could feel the temperature drop a few degrees. We must be near shade.
"His name's Louie," she explained. Asmaa could tell they were farther up under the pier. The sweet citric smell of the girl made Asmaa mouth fill with venom, not YET she scolded herself. She had to make sure they were alone. she swallowed the liquid fire searing her throat as it went. "Um, where are we miss?" She said in a rasp voice, her throat dried out from the venom.
Asmaa didn't know how much longer this ceremonial dance woud have to go before she struck, but she hoped it wouldn't be long. Asmaa was feeling weaker from not feeding in a while- 'life' had gotten in the way. Her red blurs began to darken into black pits beneath her rose colored glasses.

"Well, we are under the pier. I thought he might be under here to get out of the heat and to hide. When my dog ran away he always hid someplace dark and cool." She said. "Here Louie, here boy. Your mama wants to see you." She squinted into the darkness, trying to see the outline of a dog. "I can't see him. We are going to have to go back out."
Alexa turned and went over to the women, she grabbed her arm and said, "I'm going to lead you out. Just be careful and don't bump your head or trip." She then started to walk the women, slowly, towards the end of the pier, towards the day. "I'm going to go to the lifeguard and see if he's seen anything once we get out from under here." she said, trying to reassure the women.

Asmaa realized that the girl was trying to drag Asmaa out into the sun, granted---she had her parasol, but she wasn't about to pass up this opportunity. Things had gotten blurry when she was standing in the sand, she couldn't read vibrations clearly, but she knew a post when she 'saw' one.
The girl had grabbed her arm and was leading her out, but Asmaa was really thirsty. Asmaa took the girl's arm instead, holding it very firm, "We aren't going any where blondie."
She moved her and the girl behind a post that held up the pier. She had the girl pinned to the post by her shoulder. Her fangs grew long and poisonous with hunger. But Asmaa knew better, she wasn't about to kill or turn her, just a quick snack before the night when she could get it in a glass. It wasn't her preference, but she wasn't foolish enough to reveal the big secret that vampires were wandering around. There were to many people not to notice a dying/turning girl under the pier on a day like this. It was a miracle they hadn't been seen yet.
No, Asmaa used her nails to make three animal-like slash marks on her inner forearm, "You''re going to be my afternoon snack." She said, placing her other hand over the girl's mouth. Then she pressed her lips to the girl's forearm. The sweet, thick crimson nourishment flooded Asmaa's mouth, and she grew stronger and stronger with each mouth full. It was sweet and addictive, and pure, and power, and addictive, and life, and addictive...and ....and...
One...two...three...four....she knew how to stop herself, it was hard, but she could do it, she had to. Her secrecy is all vampires have. She thought of the most repulsing things she could think of, and unlatched her lips from the now anemic girl's arm. She licked the blood from her plump lips.
She then took her claws to her arms, stomach, and one on her cheek, and forced them to stay open as she ran madly from underneath the pier. Collapsing into the first body that she hit. (ooc: some one else want to join?) "You have to help! This girl was trying to help me find my seeing eye dog when this thing attacked us!" She screamed at the blurred figure, hoping it was a life guard, anybody really. But people in power (allegedly) were believed more.

Alexa felt the women grab her changed the the grip form her holding the women's arm to the women holding her's. When she heard the women say, "You aren't going anywhere, blondie." she paused. How the heck could this women know she was blonde. The women was blind, unless she wasn't. "You're not blind." she said, as she was pushed to the post.
Alexa looked at the women's mouth and saw her teeth lengthen. "What the heck? What are you?" Alexa had read stories of vampires but she hadn't thought they were real. If they were she thought it would be Dracula like. She then looked down and saw the women scratch her. Alexa wasn't used to this kind of pain the tears in her skinned caused. She was about to cry out when her mouth was covered. Her eyes started to go around in panic. She was looking for any one that could help her. I'm going to die, she thought. She felt blood leave her body and she started to feel light headed. Some of the last coherrent thoughts. 'Vampires are real.' 'I'm going to die and no body would know how.' When the women had pulled away from her Alexa could only see blurs, she didn't know what was around her. She felt herself slide to the sand and her head rolled to the side. She wasso tired she couldn't keep her head up. 'Stay awake, stay awake." She thought, "Someone will be here to help. Hopefully."

Cynthia arrived at the beach, hunger overtaking her sense of rationale. The blonde had to completely cover up in order to avoid that wretched sparkling that her skin did when hit with sunlight. She was dressed to the hilt; jeans, boots, a sweater with the hood up, sunglasses...even gloves! She was completely hidden in shadow and contrasted greatly with the scantily-clad beachgoers. It was a hot day out, but Cynthia had no body heat. She wasn't concerned.
The smell of an open wound made Cynthia's mouth water and her fangs enlarge. Fresh blood; someone had gotten a little bit hurt. She'd better go see if they're...okay.
She walked briskly towards the scent, all focus on a blonde looking sickly under the nearby pier, when she was bumped into by what Cynthia instantly recognized to be another vampire. She couldn't help but smirk and shake her head at the frantic display.
"You don't need to put on such an act," She said sarcastically, not concerned with the other Vampire's charade or why she was trying to convince another vampire that she was helpless and blind. "That was good work over there. Now if you'll excuse me, I'd like to go finish her off. She smells....good."

Realizing that she hadn't slammed into soft flesh, but the hard body of another hard vampire, she straightened her self, her self-inflicted wound closing instantly, as if they'd never existed. She smirked, this other vampire was just as...modest as she, if not more so. Asmaa blamed her lack of smelling her from the pier on teh fact that she'd just been feeding.
"Hmm, " she replied, "the humans seem to buy it." She said over her shoulder as the woman madeher way to the blonde. Alexa, she said her name was, not that Asmaa ever bothered to remember their names, but she shrugged it out of her mind.
The other vampire's sentiment of finishing her off made her stomach burn like she'd just swallowed her own venom. If she'd planned on killing the girl she would have drained her, not just tease herself with a snack. Keeping her face like stone---lest the woman see her emote over the human, which was surely a death sentence to her credibility as a vampire--- she said, "Go for it, I took the liberty of mking it seem like one of those filthy wolves attacked her."
And with that, she kept on walking. However, she was moving at a slower pace than usual. It was as if the sand was crawling up her veins, each grain bringing back a twinge of some long, dead, foreign feeling.

"Glad to oblige," Cynthia replied in a tone that was almost a purr. "Are you sure you don't want her...?" She was being a little sarcastic, it was true. It made the blonde curious as to why Asmaa would feed on the human without finishing her...didn't she know that even one scrape of the tooth, and the human would be turned into a vampire unless drained? Cynthia was not only adamant about keeping the vampire profile a low one, but she was even more adamant about not turning humans into vampires. It was something, a creed of sorts, of Cynthia's to never do such a thing. It disgusted her. "You were sloppy not to finish the job, after all." She added, her tone almost reprimanding. Cynthia was not aware that Asmaa had not used her teeth. It didn't make sense to her why one wouldn't. They were vampires, after all. It was their one true weapon. ---- OOC: Sorry it's poopy. I like your new sig though, Asmaa! It's sexy.

Asmaa was shocked at the woman---Cynthia's tone. It was almost if Asmaa had done something wrong by not finishing her off. Asmaa would never turn someone, willing or not, which is why she didn't bite the girl.
"No, just a snack," She replied nonchalant, avoiding attention, "and I'm not sloppy. You notice no bite marks." She added, flaring a grin. Why she was suddenly hostile, she wasn't quite certain. Perhaps it was because Cynthia had insulted her, perhaps the sun was a little too hot against her icy, covered skin, perhaps it was that her whole day was thrown off now. Maybe it was all of these things, maybe it was none of them. Maybe it was the image of the girl waking up and going to a hospital and being home for dinner now changed to an unplanned face in tomorrows obits.
Asmaa gave her head the slightest shake, to rid her self of the conflicting images. Asmaa had never cared about her prey before. Why this girl got a second thought was beyond her. She continued taking measured steps away from the scene, hopng for th 'out of sight, out of mind' theory to take affect. Unfortunately, just the oppostie was happening.

Alexa turned her head and saw two gray forms in the sunlight. They weren't very distinct but she guessed one was the women who attacked her. She wante to scream, yell, something to let the person know to get away. She tried to yell but her voice was so soft it was removed by the sound of the waves. She tried to move but she couldn't her body felt like lead.
She watched a conversation going on between the two shapes. Why isn't she attacking? Alexa thought to herself. She would have seen an attack. The two masses would have become one and there would be a dead body on the beach. She struggled to keep her eyes open. She needed to say something before the person left or was killed. She took in a couple deep breaths, trying to get enough air to yell for help. When she thought he yell would be audible she tried. She held out a help that was just audible against the waves, though it wouldn't travel very far, but maybe it was far enough for the person to hear it. She felt herself get even more tired. She tried to force her eyes to stay open, willing the unknown form to come and help.

"Ezra! Ursula! Calm down!"
Wes was tugging hard on the leashes of his two Irish Setters, both of whom were barking madly and pulling forward. They were well-trained and this was uncharacteristic of them. They were urgent and adamant about something, and Wes was having a hard time containing them.
Any normal dog owner would assume there was just a squirrel around; but not Wes. Not only did squirrels not frequent the beach, but Ursula and Ezra were very obedient; when Wes said heel, they listened. Their current selective hearing was jarring. He looked around for what they could possibly be racing for.
And that's when he saw it; a woman, lying under the nearest pier. She was moving, but didn't look to be in great shape. Apparently, his dogs had already picked up on this. Wes let go of the leashes and sprinted after them.
He reached the blonde and kneeled down next to her, but was instantly distracted as his dogs kept running. 'I'll catch them in a second,' he thought. He returned his attention to Alexa.
"Are you okay?" he asked, worried. She was pale and there were a few deep slits in her wrist. His mind instantly jumped to suicide. "Ma'am, I can help you. It doesn't have to be this way. Can you speak?"
He looked up to see where his dogs had run off to, and was shocked to see they hadn't run far--and he was even more shocked to see that they were harassing two heavily-clothed women, barking viciously and foaming at the mouth. The hair on their backs was standing up straight, and they kept their distance at least ten feet away from them. Wes was both embarrassed and confused. The girls had never shown such fury in their entire lives. He knew, he had raised them from birth.
"Ursula! Ezra!" He called to them, not wanting to leave the ailing blonde alone in the sand. He whistled a high-pitched whistle. "Here, girls! HEEL!"
When they didn't seem to hear him, Wes knitted his eyebrows together. Something was wrong.

Alexa was able to keep herself awake when she saw two forms sprint passed her. She saw that they were dogs from their forms. Her heart jumped when she the leashes. The dogs had to belong to someone and that someone would should be looking for them. She then saw a tall dark form come towards her. As Wes less bent down beside her she was able to make out his face. Her lips turned in a smile, finally, someone to help. She had started to speak but she was still worn out from the yell. After a minute or so more she was able to get enough energy to speak.
"Get me out of here." Alexa said. She knew she wouldn't be able to move, she was just to tired. She had to get out of here. She didn't like being in the dark right now. "Please. Get me out of here." She kenw if she stayed here she would most likely die. She felt a tear roll down her face. She didn't want to die here. If he didn't hurry they could both die here. She had read a ton about vampires, it had been a phase back in 8th grade. She knew things like they were fast, stealthy, and strong. He would die to if he didn't get out of here. She saw things start to get darker and darker, and she slipped into unconciousness. Not much could wake her up until she was somewhat recovered from the ordeal. --------------------- OOC: Sorry if this stinks. I'll change it. My brain isn't working today.

Asmaa was about to take another step away when something snapped at her heels. She she whirrled around to sense two very large , blurry animals. They smelled like dogs. She coulnd't get very good vibrations in the sand, so she didn't hear or sense them coming. Downside of being blind. The other one was at Cynthia. Dogs could sniff out vampires, and were especially unfriendly toward them. Instinct. Asmaa thought. Something she ignored as a human. But not now. She hadn't given it a second thought before a low, gutteral , feral sound escaped her lips and sent the animal a very clear message. Leave or I will kill you. Can't get any clearer than that.
Asmaa wondered where these dogs came from. Dogs don't just wander the beach on their own. Unless of course you're a blonde snack. In which they go directly to the most secluded area you can find on a beach. Despite the current situation Asmaa found time for sarcasm. She let the smell of beast wind its way back along the trail the animals took, which lead to under the pier. The pier where her prey lay dying. The scents went from being staight lines to a large, human shaped blur. The owner Asmaa confirmed. Well, at least she's safe now. He was tending to the blonde, which meant Cynthia wouldn't have her. Or she'd have both. Asmaa didn't really care which at this point.
All she wanted to do was get away from the dog. She could easily out run it or kill it. But both of those options called a lot of attention to herself, and the other vampire. Normally she would have just outrun it. She didn't care about one vampire having to relocate, but you didn't mess with another vamp's secrecy. She called out quietly to Cynthia, "Any suggestions?"
