Roxanne was born in Waterford, Ireland to Grace Fitzpatrick. The young single mother and her newborn daughter stayed in Waterford for three years before they found their way to her brother’s house in the States. Pasadena was a far cry from Grace’s beloved Ireland, but she tried to make it work for Roxanne.Flaws/Personality traits:
Grace bought a small apartment for her and her daughter after working as a waitress. Three months later, Roxanne was dropped off at Uncle John’s to play with Riley, and Grace never returned.
The upset four year old was taken in by her Uncle John and Aunt Nicolette. Their house in Pasadena was the perfect place for a young girl: safe, but full of interesting things to do. Riley and Roxanne became close cousins and she soon began to see the boy, two years her senior, as a brother figure. Each year, they made a trip to watch the Rose Parade, which fascinated the young girl. Until she was nine, she was set on being a permanent part of the parade.
When Roxanne was fourteen, she was woken in the middle of the night by Riley’s incessant shaking and the noise of breaking items and loud voices downstairs. Together, they crept outside through the back door and around to the front of the house where they climbed onto Riley’s motorcycle and sped away to the sounds of screams behind them.
Neither of them was ever the same after that night. Both of them dropped out of school and did what they had to in order to survive. Pasadena had too many memories and they were more likely to be found. So they went to L.A. More often than not, Roxanne turned to prostitution to earn money. Before long, she was known to most of the usual ‘Johns’ by the name ‘Versailles.’ She adopted the nickname as her last name and pushed herself further from her past.
When Roxanne was twenty, she and Riley were split up during a concert. She wasn’t overly worried at the time. They were both street smart and would meet up later. For three days, she waited for Riley to turn up back at their apartment. When he finally did, however, it proved to be the end of Roxanne’s humanity.
Roxanne doesn't see it as a good or a bad - she loves speed. Cars, motorcycles - anything that goes fast makes her happy. That being said, she doesn't really like sitting still for too long. If it's necessary, she can and will… but she prefers being outside, whether it be just walking around or having a real purpose in mind.Physical description: Aspirations: Where Did You Find Us?: Potterholics Anonymous
Roxanne doesn’t trust many people. She’s seen what humans can do, let alone her new ‘family.’ As far as she’s concerned, whether you have dentist-perfect teeth or fangs, you always have a motive and if you need to step on – or kill – some people along the way… well, let’s just say it doesn’t bother the one doing the stepping. Having been seemingly abandoned by her mother at a young age and having Riley’s momentary disappearance lead to such tragic ends, she feels it better to stay away from actual connections because they usually just end in pain and disappointment.
She always plans for the worst and hopes for the best – especially now that she’s basically gotten the worst. However, she doesn’t let her new ‘lifestyle’ slow her down. She views it as a necessary evil. Some people are born to be politicians, and some are born to be vampires. It’s just her lot in life. And as much as she might want to say ‘I’m a good vampire,’ she can’t without lying. She enjoys the hunt, though she tries to limit herself, and, if she’s upset, she’ll take another helping – ‘That’ll be an order of blood with a side of human.’ Yet, Roxanne does try to play for the good side, even if the line is smudged. If there’s a killer on the loose, she’ll do what she can to hunt him down and dispose of him, and she doesn’t discriminate between human or ‘other.’
Roxanne still feels hope and love as strongly as her lust for blood. She’s still a young woman at heart and somewhere deep within, she yearns to find that special someone. However, it’s buried deep, along with repressed memories that occasionally surface and cause her to slide to the ‘dark side.’ Hey, you never know - maybe some male vamp will come along who doesn’t completely disgust her.
