Her quiet footsteps carried her around the abandoned area. A small sigh escaped Opal's lips. She sat leaned against an abandoned warehouse and looked around. She began to wonder why she came here in the first place. She had wanted to get away from the crowd, was that why she was here? She shook her head and sat down, leaning her back against the warehouse. She started whistling silently to herself. Soon after her whistling became quiet humming, she wasn't really humming to a particular song, she was just humming so it didn't see so quiet. This place was starting to get too quiet and she wondered if she should head back up to the city.
She finally managed to stand up again, and started wandering around the abandoned city again. All she saw were houses... She wondered how long this place had been abandoned, she wondered why it was too. Had something happened here that they had to evacuate? Nah, it must of had to been something else, but what? She kept on walking and looked around for any signs that might of caused this place to become abandoned. She couldn't find anything, and she soon thought that she was probably acting silly so she stopped and plopped on the ground. She sat indian style and looked around, not knowing what she should do now. Seriously, what was there to do in an abandoned city? opal***creek

Damion sat still, resting against the wall of the old abandoned warehouse and listened to the girl hum. It was quite pretty, actually. She wasn't that bad looking herself, he reflected, taking in her long blonde hair and thin, tall figure. Enough of that though- what was a pretty girl doing alone in a place like this? Damion's natural instinct was to protect her, but he didn't want to scare her. On second thought, he suddenly realized that she was doing here alone. Of course, she was a shape shifter! Even as a human, the shape shifters could always tell another of their kind, especially as a gust of wind blew from her direction. He contemplated for a moment, watching her wander around the building, then decided to go say hi. He was vaguely self conscious about the blood that covered half of his face- the reason he was sitting there, he had gotten into another fight. He had won, of course, but just barely. He could also happily say that the other guy looked worse.
He stood up, wincing slightly, and stepped out of the shadow's to introduce himself, seeing her sitting Indian style with a curious look on her face. "Hello." He said, smiling at her, wishing that he had had a chance to fix himself up. She would probably think he was trying to rape or mug her and would attack him or run. Something he didn't want her to do. He was lonely, he just wanted to talk. And it was always nice to know who the other shape shifters around were- he hadn't met too many other ones yet.

Opal was about to rest her eyes when she thought she heard something. Who would be down here, in a place like this? Then again, she herself was down here, so maybe someone had come down here for the same reason she had. She then saw someone approaching. She smiled, someone to talk to. She put on a friendly face as the person approached. She felt her shy side coming on, darn her shy side. She always became shy when she saw people she didn't know and when she was meeting new people. She hated her shyness, because she usually could find nothing to say. She did manage to say, "Hello there, what brings you to this abandoned place?" She smiled as her curiosity suddenly overwhelmed her shyness. She looked at the person curiously, there seemed to be blood on his face, she wondered if anyone else was down here, and how he got the blood on his face in the first place. Probably a little fight or something, probably none of her business.
She pushed some hair that seemed to be covering part of her eye, out of her face. After she did that, she noticed something about the guy... Was he a shape-shifter also? She couldn't help her smile get bigger at that thought. She didn't remember meeting any other shape-shifter before, how exciting! How could she be sure though, that he was one? Something about him, she didn't know what at the moment, made her think that. Something that reminded her of her dad before he had disappeared into hiding... She shook those thoughts away, it could probably just be her imagination, she had almost let the secret out one time, thinking one person was a shape-shifter, she better not do that again.... She then forgot to add something, which she immediately thought as rude of her, "Oh, my name's Opal, just in case you're wondering." She felt her shyness start to come again, although she did manage a goofy grin. opal***creek

Damion couldn't help but laugh at her shyness. He found it totally charming. "I was just taking a walk." He said sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head. "I must have fallen or something..." He said as explanation for his face. He didn't want her thinking of him as some sort of gang-banger or something. He didn’t think that he might be being rude, non-chalantly telling her to mind her own business. Really, he wasn’t. He liked to make a good impression though.
"What are you doing around here?" He asked, curious. "Aren't you afraid you will get jumped or something?" The sun had just started to sink towards the horizon and he could hear the ocean in the distance. He really wanted to go surfing; some of his buddies had given him a ring just before he got into a fight and told him that the waves were huge.
"Opal." He mused thoughtfully. "Almost as pretty as you are." He said charmingly. He really didn't think anything of it, he was just being himself. He waited for her reply as to what she was doing, if she wasn't doing anything he would invite her to go down to the beach to hang out. Hey, maybe she surfed!

Vanessa strolled down the nearly empty streets of downtown L.A. A few dealers had already set up shop, but none of them approached her. Vanessa had once let her mind prowl on why that was, and had come up with nothing more than her aura. Sure, a slim white blonde girl might seem like an easy target - the stupidity matter factoring in heavily - but Vanessa got the feeling that it was the confidence she exuded that kept people like the dealers away. Plus, when you got closer, Vanessa wasn't all the slight. She shook her head to get her blonde tresses out of her face, letting them settle against her back. Her long-sleeved black shirt and tight black jeans hugged her body, accenting her slim waist, long legs, and voluptuous chest. Her black Converse sneakers filled out the ensemble, helping her blend into the darkness when she felt the dealers' stares were a bit too annoying.
On either side of her, buildings grew out of the pavement and towered into the sky. The imposing bars on the windows and yawning cave-like doors beckoned to Vanessa's inquisitive side, but she let the urge to explore pass as she continued on. She had been walking for a while, just prowling around, not really trying to find a fight but looking for one all the same - though she didn't admit it to herself. She loved the adrenaline from the fight, and right now her bike was in the shop so that option was out. She slowed in her graceful lope, chin jerking up as she sniffed the air billowing around her. Blood. She moved slowly, keeping to the shadows, and rounded a corner, ready to see a vampire.
Instead, two 'humans' - one male, one female - were before her. But they didn't seem like humans - neither of them. Both lacked the natural clumsy appearance of a human, and seemed to hold their respective selves with ease. Vanessa got the feeling that they had only just met, and the fact that the young woman wasn't reacting to the blood covering half of the man's face was a tip-off that she was a werewolf - used to the sight of blood on a fellow were due to their tempers. The man was a bit harder to read. Sure, he could just be a hurt human, but the blood smelled wrong to be a human. So weres - both of them. Smiling, Vanessa moved with silence forward. Even to sensitive ears, she was quiet.
She listened for a moment, but at the male's Opal. Almost as pretty as you are she couldn't help but let out a light laugh and roll her eyes. She moved into the lighter area beside the abandoned building, arms loose at her side, a slow smile on her face. Cheesy pick-up lines? Come now, is that the best you can do? Her casual stance and light tone made it clear that she was just joking around, but she stood a few feet away just in case the male's temper was easy to ignite. At this distance, she'd have shifted before he was even half done.

While Opal waited for the guy's answer, she cracked her neck, it had felt stiff. She then heard him say about his face, "I must have fallen or something...", she wasn't convinced, but she reminded herself again, not any of her business. She then said answering his question, "Well, just wandering around I guess, I'm not really a person that likes to be in crowds...." It was her shyness that made her not comfortable in crowds. She then said to his next question, "Nah...." She didn't know what she would do if she got jumped, but she usually didn't get that worried about it. She was about to say something to his next comment when she heard another voice, a female voice.
She turned to where she heard the female and saw a girl that looked about her age. Great, more people. She had thought the point down here was to get away from people, but now there were two other people here, she wondered how many people were down here. That didn't matter though, two people were good enough, company was nice, and two wasn't too many. She listened to what the girl said, grinned, and she said cheerfully but shyly to the girl, "Hi!" She was usually a cheerful girl, and rarely got angry, so when she said "hi" to the person, she thought it sounded a bit too cheerful. Maybe that was just her though. She stretched her legs out since sitting indian style was starting to make her legs fall asleep. She sighed, she hated it when her legs fell asleep. opal***creek

Damion's gaze flicked to the new girl and he flashed a smile, leaning against the brick wall. It felt cool against his sore back. He looked her up and down, she was tall and had very long dirty blonde hair. He could just imagine what both of them looked like shifted. Cheesy pick-up lines? Come now, is that the best you can do? She said casually, seemingly jokingly. Hmm, she had a sharp tongue in her head, yup. "Ooh that hurt." He said, also joking around. He was in a good mood right now and he wasn't quick to anger. You didn't have to worry about getting jumped unless you SERIOUSLY pushed his buttons.
"Two female's in one run down place like this." He rubbed the back of his head mischievously. "If I didn't know better, I'd think I was being stalked." He was clearly joking in that pretend cocky manner that many guys seemed to have. It did seem weird that two pretty girls were alone in a rundown place like this, but then again, he knew that they probably weren't exactly normal human girls. Tugging off his shirt, Damion wiped his face off, wincing slightly as he tried to get all of the blood off. That would sting when he went surfing. "By the way, my name is Damion. Who are you?" His gaze flicked to the sun again; the day wasn't getting any earlier. Maybe he could convince both of them to come down to the beach with him and hang out, maybe catch a few waves.

Vanessa looked over the female. She was pretty, with long blonde hair and a thin but clearly able body. V couldn't help but tilt her head. Opal seemed a bit uncomfortable, but not so much that she would shift or do something else unnecessary. V paused at this thought - she certainly was preoccupied with whether or not the weres were going to shift. She could handle herself if they did, so she decided to wing it and move forward a bit to stand a few feet from the sitting Opal and standing Damion. Her arms folded easily across her chest and her weight was shifted to her left leg, but it was clearly just a pose that was meant to be comfortable and not attention-seeking. She lifted a slender hand to tap her chin, considering his mention of stalking.
My, my, my, very confident in yourself, eh? She lifted a brow, trying to convey that this was just her playfulness and boredom kicking in, but didn't try too hard to get the fact across. She smiled easily down at Opal. Hello, Opal. Her eyes flicked to Damion. I'm Vanessa, but most friends call me V or Casper. Vanessa smiled a slow, wolfish grin. She loved the luxurious feeling of being in her white fur. There was a small wall about four feet high and to it Vanessa moved. She hopped easily up onto it, bracing herself with her long arms and crossing her legs, tilting her head back to let her blonde tresses fall back. She lifted her gaze to encompass both of the weres. Do you two usually prowl around the empty warehouses with the dealers?

Opal smiled, these people seemed really friendly, that was good. She let out a small yawn and rubbed her eyes sleepily though, she hadn't slept well the night before. She had had a strange dream...but enough about that, she didn't want to think about that. She grinned again as the guy named Damion, and Vanessa joked around. She wished she could joke around with them, but of course, in conversations, she could usually never find the right thing to say. All she did was nodded at what Vanessa said to Damion first and then she answered her saying, "I'm rarely down here, I usually only come down here when I want to relax and be away from crowds and just be free to wander around I guess...."
Opal found herself sitting in indian style again, her legs must have not been asleep anymore. She quickly went close a warehouse to lean her back against it, but she was still about the same distance from Damion and Vanessa, she didn't want them to think she was ditching them or being rude or anything, she just needed to rest her back against something. opal***creek

"Yes, I am very confident in myself, thanks." Damion said briskly, crossing his arms across his chest. He loved joking around. He dropped his ratty shirt on the sidewalk beside him. It would cost him to get another one, but he was pretty sure he could find another job and get one. Besides, that one looked like it had had it. "Nice to meet you V." He told the dirty blonde girl, running his fingers through his black hair when it fell in his face. "I usually do hang around here actually, but I'm not usually alone." Damion loved finding the drug dealers and gang-bangers and starting fights. It was his goal to clean up this place, but he did hope that it didn't get clean too quickly. He was enjoying himself far too much with his self appointed cop job. Occasionally he ran into a vampire or two, and they were always much harder to get rid of. They were usually well matched, but he had an advantage with shape shifters being the only things that posed as a threat to Vampires. He even occasionally ran into fellow shape shifters which usually proved to be easier to get rid of. “Well since you two don’t seem to be doing anything important, what do you say we head down to the beach for a while? I’m sure we could find a party and have some fun or something.” He paused, thinking. “Or if either one of you surf, we could always catch some waves.” He really did tend to have a tunnel mind sometimes. He had his board in his jeep. Hopefully no one had broken into it, he wasn’t in the urge to hunt down some scrawny humans and beat the heck out of them. He didn’t feel like wasting his time.

Vanessa smirked at his bold comment. He was going to be fun. Good - Vanessa loved bantering with people, and the fact that he was good looking was a plus. She looked towards Opal. Vanessa figured 'shy' was probably a good word, because the slim blonde didn't seem to have any malice or sheer bitchiness affecting her. V grinned - Opal was probably a good were to have on her side. The grin quickly faded when Vanessa realized she'd probably never see these two shifters again after tonight. She would more than likely keep to the 'upper world' for a while, staying away from people she knew she could come to like - granted, that was all depending on if they were just acting the way they were at present. But V got the feeling they werent. She stretched languidly, arching her back and pointing her toes. A light breeze danced against her now-bare stomach, and Vanessa suddenly had the very strong urge to shift and just run, and run, and run.
She turned her attention back to the two shifters, smiling slowly. Surfing had always been one of the things V wanted to learn. Maybe this was her chance. Plus, the idea of a party warmed V down to her core. She stood, shimmying her hips playfully. "I'm always up for a party. And, hey, I've always wanted to have a one-night-stand with surfing. How about it, surfer boy? Care to teach me?" She moved fluidly over to Opal and reached down, taking the girl's hands and pulling her to a standing position. "How about you, Opal? Will you dance with me?" V laughed, the sound light and carefree, as she gently spun Opal around. "Pleaseeeee?" Her silver-blue eyes danced as she looked into the eyes of the slightly shorter Opal.

Opal listened to Vanessa and Damion talking and let some of her hair hang in her face. She frowned, her bangs weren't as straight as they usually were. She pushed them out of her face now, not liking that it wasn't that straight. She grinned as he heard Damion mention a party and surfing. Opal had never surfed before, that might be fun... She wondered how hard it was though, because it sometimes takes her awhile to learn things, and she doesn't want them to get mad at her for not getting it or she didn't want to embarrass herself. She said, "A party would be fun!!" She was surprised when Vanessa came and pulled her up and asked her to dance? Opal couldn't help but let out a high pitched, short laugh that usually embarrassed her but right now she had never been happier probably.
Opal grinned and said, "I would love to dance with you!" She let out another laugh and said to Damion, "Would you mind if you taught me how to surf too...I've never surfed before, but it sure looks fun!" She really hoped he wouldn't mind. She stretched her legs quickly and winced as they let out a crack. She then looked at both Vanessa and Damion, her eyes wide with excitement and a giant smile on her face. opal***creek

Damion threw back his head and laughed, watching the girls dance. They would be a hoot to hang out with, that was for sure. Even though both of them were almost exactly opposite- Opal was quite and somewhat refined, but not scared, while V was not refined at all. Both were plain amazing either way, they would be fun to teach how to surf. Damion somehow got the idea that V would be hard to teach at first, she seemed almost like she would quickly become impatient, but then she probably would finally get it, then you wouldn't be able to pry her away from the board. She would always be fun for a laugh any time.
Opal would be interesting to teach, he guessed that she would catch on quickly and be patient if she didn't get it perfect first. Then she would most likely surprise him by being the best out of all three of them in just a little while. Quite people like her tended to do that; he loved it. There was always more than meets the eye.
"I must teach you both how to surf then." He said, smiling, his jaw set. "We can go to my car and grab my surf and either walk through downtown five miles, or we could always ride." He said it as more of a question though. He left it up to them; if they didn't want to get into a car with a stranger, then they didn't have to. He indicated the direction of his car with his hand, and took a step in the direction. He kept on alert for the people he had initially started the fight that left a gash across his face though; they could be ready to jump him anywhere. It seemed silent for the moment though.

Clearly pleased, Vanessa grinned at Opal. Perfect! We will dance, then. She turned to Damion when he said he'd teach them. She gave him a smile. That'd be great, Damion. Really. She considered what she was going to do. She mentally cursed. She was letting them get too close. Her emotions bubbled in her chest and she slowly moved away from Opal. Her eyes flicked up the road before back to the shifters. She stepped into the shadows and, when she stepped back out, was clad in a white undershirt and boy shorts. Her bare feet were silent on the ground.
She needed to relax before going onto the beach, or partying. She stretched her legs and arms before standing straight and smiling a bit at them. "While that sounds like a very tempting offer, I'll meet you there. I'll be there when you get there." She smiled apologetically at Opal for leaving her with the male before spinning and sprinting into the street, dodging down the street before diving forward into the shadows. The dealers wouldn't think it was anything real, and she would get the release she needed. A white wolf loped out of the shadows, pausing and looking over its shoulder at them before loping off into the night.

Opal smiled at Vanessa, she was really nice. Something inside of her wished she would see her again after today, she was just a girl that Opal didn't get that shy around.... Opal grinned and said, "Thanks so much Damion!" She then watched as Vanessa disappeared and reappeared and then again as she ran away and said she'd meet them at the beach. Crap, she felt her shyness coming back. She turned to Damion, she didn't want to be rude and say no thanks, because Opal didn't exactly know the way to the beach, so she said, "Um...do you mind giving me a ride?" She sighed, she needed to get out more, so she didn't have to depend on others to take her places, she thought that was kind of pathetic but hey, if they were willing....
Opal looked at the clothes she was wearing, shorts that almost went to her knees, and a shortsleeved blue t-shirt. She wished she would've broght other clothes with her, would she be able to surf with these clothes on? Or maybe she could pick something up at a shop quick....eh, she didn't know what to do, well, she didn't want to have Damion waiting for her to pick out an outfit or anything, that would be weird, so she'd just go in what she was wearing. opal***creek
